The family-owned and operated Parrish Family Vineyard is celebrating summer with the release of its 2016 Estate Rosé and 2014 Reserve Silken. The wines take the best of multiple AVAs in Paso Robles, California and create complex, layered wines perfect for a hot, summer day or a late-evening barbeque.

The 2016 Estate Rosé features Grenache from the Templeton Vineyard in the El Pomar Sub-AVA. The nose welcomes with rose petals and the delicate palate opens with strawberries, hibiscus, and citrus peel. The finish is crisp with light minerals.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the 2014 Reserve Silken which is a blend of 62% Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Petite Sirah. It leads with a nose of boysenberry, vanilla, and rich chocolate brownie. The fruit progresses into the palate with blackberries, blueberry, Chantilly cream, and a baking cocoa finish. The tannins are substantial, but not overwhelming making this wine silky smooth and easy to pair.

“These two extremes showcase the best of our winery and variability of Paso Robles,” said winemaker and owner, David Parrish. “The 2016 Estate Rosé is bright and beautiful and the 2014 Reserve Silken is a blend we look forward to creating every year with its dark and mysterious side. The two together are a great representation of the quality of fruit and complexity of wines we are able to offer.”

Parrish Family Vineyard has an award-winning wine program; most recently its Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon earned 94 points. The family operates a tasting room in downtown Paso Robles and is currently in the process of opening a winery and tasting room on its vineyard property in early 2018.
