3 Badge Beverage Corporation has introduced Petite Sirah to its Plungerhead line of wines and has unveiled a significant packaging redesign for the brand. The new Plungerhead Lodi Petite Sirah hits the market this summer with a new bold red package that gives Plungerhead a distinctive presence.

In addition to the new Petite Sirah, Plungerhead’s new-vintage Zinfandels and Cabernet Sauvignons also sport the redesigned package, which features a bright red label that focuses attention on the varietal name. Plungerhead’s signature character, Edgar B. Plongerheid, retains a prominent place on the label but is further brought to life by the striking red background and other design enhancements.

“Plungerhead is all about wines of character for characters, and Lodi Petite Sirah adds to the legacy,” noted August Sebastiani, president of 3 Badge Beverage Corporation. “The high-impact new packaging also reinforces the distinctiveness of Plungerhead and it commands consumer attention.”

Lodi is ideally suited for Petite Sirah, and 2015 proved to be a strong year in the region, particularly for Petite Sirah. The Plungerhead 2015 Petite Sirah ($14) was made from several lots from top vineyards and then blended with Tempranillo (5%), Merlot (4%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (1%) before aging in a combination of French, American and Hungarian oak.
