A brand new India Pale Ale is set to join the Hangar 24 Craft Brewery lineup as the 9th Anniversary Hazy IPA will be introduced Saturday (May 20) at the Hangar 24 AirFest and 9th Anniversary Celebration. The 9th Anniversary Hazy IPA joins an eclectic group of anniversary ales of the past. It is the second consecutive year an IPA will be the anniversary beer, following the 8th Anniversary Citra IPA from last year. That offering was a silver medal winner at the 2016 California State Fair Beer Competition.

The 9th Anniversary Hazy IPA is patterned after the increasingly popular New England IPAs. The Hangar 24 version is golden straw in color with a cloudy/hazy appearance and its aroma has notes of pineapple, guava and citrus. This juicy hop bomb imparts flavors of mandarin, peach, mango, with slight spice and a slight bitter finish.

Anniversary ales to be poured at Saturday’s 9th Anniversary Celebration include 9th Anniversady Hazy IPA, 6th Anniversary Farmhouse Saison, 5th Anniversary Slow Roll (Belgian-style golden ale) and 4th Anniversary Doppelstick Alt (double Alt-Bier).

Hours of operation for the Hangar 24 AirFest & 9th Anniversary Celebration will be noon-10 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. Air show entertainment includes appearances from the US Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet, a C-17 Globemaster, a KC-135 Stratotanker, a T-38 Talon and the return of the Patriot’s Jet Team, and more. Music acts include headliner The Spasmatics, Honky Tonk Boombox and Fender Center’s Kids Rock Free Band. The event will also include the largest AirFest KidsZone ever. Parking is free.
